The perfect quality of HEETS YELLOW cigarettes is proved by numerous researchers carried out by independent organisations.
The FDA has conducted a number of studies in its own laboratories outside of the zone of influence of stakeholders. The research concerned the most dangerous and potentially hazardous substances for health: carbon monoxide, carcinogens, formaldehyde, acrolein, and nicotine. Experts also studied whether IQOS is a full-fledged replacement for cigarettes or simply increases consumption, motivating smokers to buy both cigarettes and sticks.
Based on the research results, the FDA committee concluded:
- Carbon monoxide (CO): in HEETS YELLOW IQOS aerosol no more than in
atmospheric air
The concentration of carbon monoxide in HEETS YELLOW IQOS aerosol is similar to the concentration of CO in the atmosphere. IQOS users inhale the same amount of carbon monoxide as non-smokers simply with the air. - Formaldehyde, benzopyrene, acrolein: 77-90% lower than in cigarettes
Until recently, the only study (apart from our own PMI tests) regarding the formaldehyde content of IQOS aerosol was a study by the University of California. Scientists have stated that when heated, the filter in the ICOS sticks releases a harmful substance called formaldehyde. The FDA conducted its own laboratory tests and determined that formaldehyde in IQOS aerosol contains, but its concentration is significantly lower than in cigarette smoke. The presence of formaldehyde is due to the nature of the tobacco and has nothing to do with the filter.
In general, the levels of acrolein, formaldehyde and benzopyrene in HEETS YELLOW IQOS aerosol are 77-90% lower than in cigarette smoke.
- Carcinogens: less than sausage and popcorn.
